Night Pain.

I’m laying in my bed writing this on my cellphone.  It’s 4 am.  I’m restless.  There is nothing good on TV.  I can’t fall back asleep.  I’m in pain.

That has been my nightly routine as of late.

The night pain has been so severe that I wake up crying.  And if I cry loud enough, my sleeplessness spreads to other people in the house.

A pain management nurse paid me a visit two weeks ago to address this very problem, and the solution was to increase my pain medication dosage.

It hasn’t worked out so far – as you can see.

I’m just so frustrated because I haven’t had a decent or restful night’s sleep in months and it’s slowly turning me insane.

I just took my 4th dose of hydromorphone so my fingers are crossed that it will lessen my pain to the point where I can fall asleep again.

Wish me luck! :/

Update: it’s now 8:30 am and still no sleep and still intense back/leg pain…

One good thing is that there are some interesting programs on TV at this hour...

Fat Albert just came on tv. At least now I’ll have something else to occupy my mind…

Well that sounds terrible, you’d think they would be able to come up with a better solution for you. One that actually works.

I think part of the problem might be me. I am very wary of medications and possible adverse effects. Some alternatives were suggested – like a pain patch – but the thought of wearing one terrifies me! Blah!
